a brave newish world

so, welcome to the new millenium-ish type thing. it looks like we all got through without much of a scratch. the banks, despite $1B worth of withdrawls in Canada alone, got through just fine; a large percentage of computers kept on operating just fine, thankyouverymuch; not one car blew up on ignition due to the y2k bug.

not everything survived, unfortunately. i know of a couple of friendships that died over the holidays, due to reasons i'd rather not get into here.

It's unfortunate that it happened, but it'll all be dealt with karmically. in a wonderful balance, new friendships were created over the holidays. i was glad to meet j, who was excessively generous to us over the holidays. i was also very happy to meet the dog whisperer, someone who we're all hoping will break the curse.

k wants to write down our new years resolutions this year and post them on the fridge. she thinks that if we have them on the fridge, and see them every day, that we'll be better at keeping them. i think that's a great idea, and i'm going to one-up it, and post them on the web. so, here they are...

  1. Improve my cardiovascular health. I'm not the young buck I used to be.My resolution is to lose the well-concealed gut behind my belt, and basically get the old heart rate up.
  2. Be careful to not take advantage of the people around me. I haven't broken this resolution yet, in the last 26 years. There have been a couple of events in the last little bit that have really made me realize how important this resolution is, however.
  3. Improve my mental sharpness. Ya, it's time for the Gingko Biloba and more reading. I've felt somewhat addle-brained over the past month or two, and I think it's about time to take care of that.
  4. Improve my work skills. I'm already partially there. I already know more from my last six months at WorldGate than I knew before. I want to improve my drawing skills, and create some really kick-ass designs.
  5. Survive the winter. Well... I had to have a resolution that I'd keep, no matter what, didn't I? :)
  6. Finish my degree as quickly as possible. There's just one course left. I can do it through correspondance, which means I can potentially whip right on through.

well, that's the lot of them. oh ya.... one last one: to never leave my computer behind again. :)
